We’re leaving Istanbul with a 3 o’clock flight to Lagos, Nigeria. This morning, there was time till 12 o’clock for individual appointments. People went to the showroom of the fashion designer Arzu Karpol (whose agent we met earlier this week at Istanbul Modern), had an interview with the grande dame of Turkish contemporary art: Gülsün Karamustafa or met up with two women opening up a new space in Istanbul this fall, Caravanserai. All in all, a productive morning to end a very well-organised, interesting and constructive first stop of this orientation trip. (Thank you Haco and Dilara!). We all agree that we will miss Istanbul, but at the same time we are curious and excited to get to know Lagos. So: goodbye Istanbul and hello Lagos.
(btw: they have free wifi Internet at Istanbul airport: how nice is that?)
